A club, not a corporation

Forty-seven seasons.

Skydive SWOOP has been jumping Ontario skies since 1979 — through six presidents, a dozen aircraft, and something like 140,000 jumps. We're a non-profit, run by our members, and every dollar that comes in goes back into the club: aircraft, training, safety, community.

Why jump here

The closest dropzone to Toronto. And the oldest.

Four things you won't find at every dropzone in Ontario — and won't find at any of them together.

01

Closest to the GTA

60 minutes from downtown Toronto. 15 from Hamilton. Nowhere in southern Ontario puts you under canopy sooner.

02

Established 1979

Canada's longest-running skydiving club, still active. Every dropzone you've heard of opened after us.

03

A club, not a company

Non-profit. Member-run. Board-governed. The people signing you off aren't collecting bonuses — they're the ones jumping next.

04

The view

Lake Ontario, the Toronto skyline, and the Niagara Escarpment — all from one exit. Cross-check your rig against that.

Before you drive out

Answers, briefly.

How far is Skydive SWOOP from Toronto?

About 60 minutes from downtown Toronto — closer than any other dropzone in southern Ontario. We're at 461 ON-5 West in Dundas, just west of Hamilton on the Niagara Escarpment.

How much does a tandem skydive cost?

Tandem skydives are $359 at 8,000 ft or $369 at 11,000 ft, plus HST. Media packages (video + photos) are available as add-ons. You can book and pay online.

What's the age and weight limit?

You must be 18 or older with valid government photo ID. For equipment safety, guests 220–250 lb incur a $75 surcharge and guests over 250 lb a $150 surcharge. Weight must be proportionate to height for the harness to fit safely.

How high do you jump from?

Tandem skydives exit at either 8,000 ft ($359) or 11,000 ft ($369), giving you roughly 30 to 45 seconds of freefall followed by a 5-minute parachute ride under canopy.

What if the weather is bad on my booking day?

Skydiving is weather-dependent. If wind, cloud, or visibility fall below safe limits, we reschedule at no charge. You'll get a call or text before you drive in.

Can I bring my own camera on a tandem jump?

For safety reasons — a CSPA regulation — tandem students cannot wear cameras. Book our media package and one of our camera flyers jumps with you and captures it professionally.

How do I learn to skydive on my own?

Our Progressive Freefall (PFF) program starts with a full-day ground school followed by 8 supervised jumps to earn your CSPA A-license. See our Learn to Skydive page for the syllabus.

Do you accept experienced skydivers from other dropzones?

Yes. Bring your CSPA or foreign-equivalent license, current logbook, and reserve packing card. See our Experienced Skydivers page for requirements.
